Band, choir students compete at district music festival!

Cabool High School choir and band competed Thursday, March 16, in the Missouri State Large Ensemble Music Festival.

The 33-member CHS concert choir received an Outstanding 2 rating in their performance, and an Outstanding rating on their vocal sight-reading adjudication.

The 43-member CHS concert band received an Outstanding rating on their performance, and an Exemplary 1 rating on their instrumental sight-reading adjudication. 

On Friday, March 17, several students from the band and choir attended the District Solo and Small Music Festival.

Those receiving Outstanding ratings were: Madison Donnalley, timpani solo; Emily Dobson, alto sax solo; Aubrey Frisbee, Flute Solo; Adam Brewer, trumpet solo; Ashley Homer, alto sax solo; Adam Hatfield, Adam Brewer, Corbin Doucette, Adam Block, and Forest Swisher, brass quintet; Saxton Green, tenor vocal solo; Hayden Casper, bass vocal solo; Olivia Gray, alto vocal solo; Grace Shockley, soprano vocal solo; Emily Dobson, alto vocal solo; Forest Swisher, bass vocal solo; Zach Hoots, tenor vocal solo; Dylan Ficken, tenor vocal solo; Marissa Mathews, soprano vocal solo; and Duncan Stack, bass vocal solo. 

Those receiving an Exemplary rating and advancing to state are Audra Wood, clarinet solo; Dylan Ficken, tenor sax solo; Andrew Taylor, tenor sax solo; Marissa Mathews, alto sax solo; Hayden Casper, trumpet solo; Corbin Doucette, trombone solo; Adam Block, tuba solo; and Corbin Doucette, piano solo.

All members of ensembles, both large and small, as well as soloists with an Outstanding or Exemplary rating will receive MSHSAA Music Festival Medals. The purchase of these medals is sponsored by Cabool Music Boosters.
