CMS band students compete in festival at Marshfield!

Members of the Cabool Middle School band are, from left, Josh Thompson, Fisher Smith, Weston Reese, Kory Carey, Diego Candanoza, Jacob Shockley, Jesse Hale, Megan Gayer, Alex Swisloski, Andrew Evans, Samuel Senf, Caitlin Carter, Eli Garner, Alexis Kirchem, Quincy Flanagan, Jakob Ellison, Kaitlin Bayless, Brayden Cornelius, Braxton Davis, Alyssa Anderson, Hailey Shannon, Haylie Prifogle, Jay Grogan, Eddie Swisloski, Alexis Hunter, Ryan Chick and Haylee Bohn.

Cabool Middle School Band traveled to Marshfield on March 4 to compete in the Junior High Band Festival.

Receiving Exemplary I ratings in vocal solos were Jayston Grogan, Quincy Flanagan, Jacob Shockley, Ryan Chick, and Brayden Cornelius.

Receiving Exemplary I ratings for vocal duets were Alyssa Anderson/Haylie Prifogle, Katie Bayless/Megan Gayer, and Eddie Swisloski/Alex Swisloski.

Quincy Flanagan received an Exemplary I rating on his piano solo.

Receiving Exemplary I ratings on instrumental entries were Weston Reese, tenor sax solo; Eli Garner, trombone solo; Jayston Grogan, alto sax solo; Alexis Hunter/Katie Bayless/Megan Gayer, flute trio; and Caitlin Carter/Alex Swisloski, clarinet duet.

Receiving Outstanding II ratings on instrumental entries were Quincy Flanagan, snare drum solo; Diego Candanoza/Weston Reese, trumpet/tenor sax duet; and Braxton Davis/Jacob Shockley, snare drum duet.

The band also competed as a large ensemble and worked with Dr. Hopwood of Southwest Baptist Universiry in a clinic, receiving an Outstanding rating.
