Elementary school food drive benefits SOS Food Pantry!

Cabool Elementary School held its annual Turkey of the Year food drive, collecting 1,776 items for SOS Food Pantry. The food drive wrapped up last Friday, and on Monday several Cabool Mayor’s Youth Council members helped load the items for transport to SOS, photo above, and then helped unload them there. As part of the Turkey of the Year contest the teacher of the classroom collecting the most items receives a frozen turkey and the title of Turkey of the Year. This year that honor goes to Jerry Adkins, whose second grade class brought in 281 items during the drive. He was to be recognized at a school assembly Tuesday afternoon.
